KAMUSTA

"A novice pilot was flying at night and the clouds came in. His instruments were telling him which way was up but he didn't trust them. The truth was right in front of him but he couldn't see it. He lost sight of the horizon and nosedived. By the time he realizes what was happening, it was too late. He could no longer pull himself up. That's what depression is like. Maybe your friend is depressed, maybe he's not. Maybe something else is going on or maybe it was there for a long time but it doesn't show. People keep secrets even to those who are closest to them." - A Million Little Things

When you're reminded of someone, it could be out of the blue or you may have seen or heard something that made you recall a fond memory about them, don't just think of them. If you could spare a minute or two, even if you haven't spoken to them for years, send them something. A simple "hello" or "kumusta" could mean a lot. Check on them. It might unknowingly bring comfort to someone who has been feeling empty, alone, left out, confused, hopeless or unhappy. 👍
