THE LORD’S INVITATION

When all your time has been consumed by earthly doings,
When all your days have been eaten up by life’s busyness,
When all the aspects of your nature – spirit, soul and body has been torn-down by sicknesses, or diseases, backsliding, lukewarmness, heavy laden,
Why not remind yourself that in God’s embrace you can find peace of mind and healing..

REMING YOURSELF!

“Jesus can free prisoners, gives sight to the blind, release the oppressed”

Why not come to JESUS CHRIST, He has prepared a very wonderful service
For me,
For you
And for all of us..

“It’s so good to be a Christian, it’s so good!”

HAPPY 34TH YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PAPA & MAMA

In the quiet of the morning, while I’m busy preparing myself for a new day, your prayers I always heard. In silence, I shed tears. I don’t really know what my heart felt every time your prayers echoes in my ears. When I leave the house, the Lord always reminds me of His faithfulness to our family.

We, your children are now grown-ups and most of the moment we almost forgot our responsibility to pray for you, Papa & Mama.

I wanted to say to the Lord how blessed we are for having you our parents. You teached us to rise up every time we stumbled. You lift us up every time we’re discouraged. You always remind us to stick to the Apostle’s teaching no matter how big our shortcomings, that no matter what happen, we must run near to Jesus! Run near to Tatay!

How blessed we are.
How blessed I am to have you, Papa & Mama..

Thank you for the every Sunday laying of the hands pronouncing blessing to me.

Thank you for understanding my silence, but the Lord knows how much I long to shout to tell to the world how much I love you. “I love you Papa & Mama!”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAPA

When I was a child, I’m dreaming of a father who can always usher me inside the Jollibee to buy me a bunch of chickenjoy and a lot of large fries.
A father who can buy me a dozen of lovely and expensive barbiedolls..
A father who can build me a cute yellow sunflower painted room filled with books, pillows and teadybears..
A father who earned above minimum wage so that our dining table be filled everyday with a mouth-watering yummy meaty foods..

My real father is far different from a father I’m dreaming of having..

When I and my 3 siblings were only a child, our dad always usher us inside the jollibee..
I MEAN, our dad always usher us inside the Church teaching us to pray, worship, love and serve Jesus. Afterwards, our dad will buy a lot of friedchicken and cheezyfries..
I MEAN, our dad will buy some pieces of bread and together we’ll eat with a great joy in the spirit..
A GREAT JOY THAT NO AMOUNT OF MONEY CAN BUY.

He is our dad who always usher us inside the company where he work for, for us to lead a worship song as an intro before his Bible Study. Afterwards, he will accompany us to their canteen and together we’ll eat breakfast with a great smile..
A GREAT SMILE THAT ONLY JESUS AND OUR DAD CAN GIVE.

He is our dad who pleads every summer, “Will you please register my 4 children to that youthcamp even I don’t have cash in hand and I’ll promise I’ll return to hand you the payment. I don’t want them to miss what God will bring in that camp.”

He is our dad who says, “Enjoy your life to the fullest with Jesus. I cannot give all that you wanted in life but your Heavenly Father can do that..”

Pa, HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY po. Every blessing we have in our lives now is the fruit of your labor in teaching us that delighting ourselves to Him will give us our heart’s desire.

Pa, we’re not a “Pastor/Pastora” now that you want us to be but we want to assure you that no one can separate us from the love of Christ.
NO ONE.
PERIOD.

Pa, personally, thank you for being such a thoughtful, methodical and steady father to me, understanding the partly weird side of me : D

I asked God (recently) to give me someone like you in the near future (God is laughing I guess : D

Thank you for reminding me that God is faithful, creative and impeccable in His time and that was really the source of my strength : )

Pa, I’m done letting go of the “Dream Father” I’d constructed in my mind when I’m a child because for me, YOU’RE MY FATHER WHO MAKE ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE : )

Papa “Mhen” WE LOVE YOU <3
HAPPY BIRTHDAY <3
We really appreciate you <3

I LOVE YOU MAMA ELSA

One fine day, my mom was in tears, not because of sadness, not because of pains in her heart, but because of happiness of knowing there’s a life within her, joy of seeing my beating heart.

As I grow inside her, she will be more than glad to carry me, caress me everyday with her loving hands, talk to me like I already understand, makes me feel that the world is beautiful outside, and there’s a lot of loving people waiting for me.

My mom will be patient, she will endure all pains, she will never leave me, she will be there to protect me, from anyone who will dare to harm me, she will love me more than herself.

And when my first cry will break the silence, even when my mom is in her fainting moment, she will treasure such time as her most precious, because I am her most precious, her living breath and heartbeat. The greatest gift she has in her life.

For that, my mom will cherish my dad, no matter what, it’s unconditional, for without him, she will never have me, and she will be forever grateful to God, for blessing her with such a beautiful life, for giving me to her… HER MOST PRECIOUS.

ALL ABOUT MOM

Ang pagtatalo ng Asawang Lalaki sa Psychologist:

Psy: Anong ginagawa mo sa buhay Mr?
Mr: Nagtatrabaho ako bilang accountant ng bangko.
Psy: Eh ang asawa mo?
Mr: Wala siyang trabaho.

“When a woman is quiet, millions of things are running in her mind.”

“When a woman stares at you, she is wondering why she loves you so much in spite of being taken for granted.”

“When she says ‘I will stand by you,’ she will stand by you like a rock.”

THE PROMISED I MADE TO MYSELF

If the thought ever crosses your mind of why I’m single and you think you know it’s out of bad luck, think again. It’s the promise I made to myself to never again settle for less than I deserved. Every strong woman was once a weak girl who promised herself never again settle for less than she deserved.

I already accepted the fact and oh! The truth should I say, that the Lord had already prepared before I was born, a plan that best fits for my personality.  God knows what really my heart’s desire and for almost 10 years, I pleaded it to Him to grant it. After 10 years, I’ve seen my desire’s still unanswered. I believe that I didn’t live my life into a purest sacrifice of long-suffering or patience. I waited for His answer but I’ve done a lot of impure ways to fulfill as soon as possible my longings.

Now, I’m 32 years old and I firmly decided and promised to myself to be still (to be truly still) and know that He is God; to wait again for His answers and if it doesn’t His will, I already accepted it and thank Him for it every day. I’m not the type of girl who has a long perseverance in insisting my desire. I am a girl who easily quits and just let be with the flow. God knows my heart and as easy as that – He knows how to handle me.

God Bless Us..

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE

1.Let’s say it’s 7:25 PM and you’re going home (alone of course) after unusually hard day on the job.
2.You’re really tired, upset and frustrated.
3.Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only 5 km from the hospital nearest your home.
4.Unfortunately, you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far.
5.You have been trained in CPR, but the guy who taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself.
6. How To Survive A Heart Attack When Alone? Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.
7.However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough and the cough must deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.
8.Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital.

CHOOSY

You can only choose on something or somebody if you have choices readily available in your hands.
Therefore I realize, choosing is a privilege and is not for everyone. It will always comes with a price.

-Jay Mark Balabis

STOP DISCRIMINATION

Yung batang buntis na nakita mo sa kalsada na sinabihan mong ang agang lumandi, na-rape pala siya.
Yung lalaking tinawag mong baduy, working student pala at wala siyang pambiling damit.

WORDS FOR TEENAGERS

Always we hear the cry from teenagers, “What can we do? Where can we go?”

My answer is this: “Go home, mow the lawn, wash the windows, learn to cook, build a raft, get a job, visit the sick, study your lessons and after you’ve finished, read a book. Your town does not owe you recreational facilities and your parents do not own you fun.

The world does not owe you a living, you owe the world something. You owe it your time, energy and talent so that no one will be at war, in sickness and lonely again. In other words – GROW UP! Stop being a cry baby, get out of your dream world and develop a backbone not a wish bone. Start behaving like a responsible person. You are important and you are needed. It’s too late to sit around and wait for somebody to do something someday. Someday is now and that somebody is YOU.

LOVE YOURSELF

It’s important to be nice to others, but it’s even more important to be nice to yourself.

You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world. So make sure you don’t start seeing yourself through the eyes of those who don’t value you. Know your worth, even if they don’t.

Today, let someone love you just the way you are – as flawed as you might be, as unattractive as you sometimes feel and as incomplete as you think you are.

Yes, let someone love you despite all of this, and let that someone be you.

-Marc Chernoff

PAST IS PAST

Some people believe that without history, our lives amount to nothing.

At some point, we all have to choose. Do we fall back on what we know? Or, do we step forward to something new?

It’s hard not to be haunted by our past. Our history is what shapes us, what guides us.

Our history resurfaces. Time after time, after time. So we have to remember.

Sometimes, the most important history is the history we are making today.

BAD CHOICES MAKES GOOD STORIES

One day, I’d felt that everything falls down little by little. I’d lost my job, lots of family problems and arguments and break-up with my boyfriend I’ve been for over 7 years.

I don’t know where to go with cause even if I run, I can’t escape reality. So I think, ending a life is the only key to escape this agony. A suicide.

I went to Passover above rushing trucks, and racing cars.

I prepared myself for a while and thinks about the tragic stories happened to me, and it makes me cry a lot.

I was about to jump on it but then, I’ve been attracted by a man with no hands sitting beside me which has a can on front and a small amounts of coins in it.

He looks like he’s not satisfied on his position. He’s moving his butt on floor, like there’s someone is tickling him. So I tried to ask “What’s the matter?” He looked at me and says, “My butt is so itchy and I can’t scratch it.” I smiled secretly until I laughed as if he’s mature thinking than me who graduated.

That day I didn’t jump out of it. Because that day made me realized something. That man doesn’t have hands which was worst, no girlfriend, lots of family problems (for sure), a jobless man contented on sitting on a bridge with a small amount of income, and it’s only a miracle if he approved on a huge company with high income. But he still chooses to live.

While me? I can still have a new better job and can eat without sitting under the hot sunlight of sun, I can still find more deserving guy, I can still fix my family problems but refuses to live. That was the biggest mistake I made. I somehow conclude that people who chooses to end their lives is the people who do not trust themselves and more worst than people who offer themselves to survive a day.

STUDENTS VS. TEACHERS

Teacher: How old is your father?
Kid: He is 6 years.
Teacher: What? How is this possible?
Kid: He became father only when I was born.
(Logic! Children are quick and always speak their minds)

Teacher: Maria, go to the map and find North America.
Maria: Here it is!
Teacher: Correct. Now class, who discovered America?
Class: Maria!

Teacher: Glenn, how do you spell “crocodile?”
Glenn: K-R-O-K-O-D-I-A-L
Teacher: Maybe it is wrong, but you asked me how I spell it
(I love this child)

Teacher: Donald, what is the chemical formula for water?
Donald: H I J K L M N O
Teacher: What are you talking about?
Donald: Yesterday you said its H to O.

Teacher: Clyde, your composition on “My Dog” is exactly the same as your brother’s. Did you copy his?
Clyde: No Sir, it’s the same dog.
(I want to adopt this kid!!!)

Teacher: Harold, what do you call a person who keeps on talking when people are no longer interested?
Harold: A Teacher!

(Laughter is one of the best medicine : D

ENGLISH IS A CRAZY LANGUAGE

There is no EGG in EGGPLANT nor a HAM in HAMBURGER; neither APPLE nor PINE in PINEAPPLE. MUFFINS weren’t invented in ENGLAND. QUICKSAND can work slowly, BOXING RINGS are SQUARE, and a GUINEA PIG is nether from GUINEA nor it is a PIG.

And why it is that WRITERS write but FINGERS don’t FING. GROCERS don’t GROCE and HAMMERS don’t HAM? Doesn’t it seem crazy that you can make AMENDS but not one AMEND? If TEACHERS taught why didn’t PREACHERS praught? If a VEGETARIAN eats vegetables, what does a HUMANITARIAN eat?

In what other language do people recite at play and play at a recital? We ship by TRUCK but send cargo by SHIP. We have NOSES that run and FEET that smell. We PARK in DRIVEWAY and DRIVE in a PARKWAY. And how can a SLIM CHANCE and FAT CHANCE be the same, while a WISE MAN and WISE GUY are opposites?

You have to marvel at the UNIQUE LUNACY of the language in which your HOUSE can BURN UP as it burns down, which you FILL IN a form by FILLING IT OUT, and which an ALARM goes OFF by going ON! And IN CLOSING, if father POP how come mother’s not MOP?

PRONOUNCIATION EXERCISES

B&V SOUND: There’s a ban on vans at the curb by the curve. I’m very bad at volleyball, but very fine at basketball.
P&F SOUND: Perhaps it is preferable for a professor to personify himself profoundly and perfectly as a better performer than any other person in his profession.
T&TH SOUND: Thirty thousand snakes thirstily drank three thousand lakes.
LONG & SHORT VOWELS – I & E: Three sweet switched Swiss witches three washed Swiss witch Swatch watch switches.
LONG & SHORT VOWELS – O, U & A: There once was a fly on the wall. I wonder “Why didn’t it fall?” Was its feet stuck? Or was it just luck? Or does gravity miss things so small?

There was a young lady named Rose, who had a large wart on her nose. When she had it removed, her appearance improved. But her glassed slipped down to her toes.

10 TIPS TO ACE YOUR INTERVIEW

1.Study Your Resume And Know It Well: Speaking intelligently about your previous job is one of the best ways to ace your interview.
2.Dress Appropriately: Look clean, pressed, well-groomed, and smartly dressed during the interview.
3.Know The Job/Position You’re Applying For: Study the job description to truly understand what the interviewer is looking for.
4.Display Skills With Concrete Example: The interviewer wants to know you are hard working, but it will be hard for him or her to believe unless you prove it.
5.Build Rapport: You know the saying, “There’s never a second chance to make a first impression”, but it will be hard for him or her to believe you unless you prove it.
6.Make Eye Contact: Direct eye contact shows two key qualities employers look for in candidates – confidence and high self-steem.
7.Stay Alert: Avoid spacing out and staring into space. Be attentive and alert to the interviewers questions.
8.Save A Question For the End: It’s a terrible disappointment for the manager to ask, “So have any questions for me?” And to hear the candidate say “No”. Don’t be left query less.
9.Smile And Stay Calm: Smile when you talk. Look confident, make eye contact, and speak clearly. Don’t rush your words and don’t interrupt the interviewer.
10.Be Yourself: Let your true self shine through and you’ll send off the positive energy you’ll need to ace your job interview.

MY CALL CENTRE INTERVIEW

1.Tell Me About Yourself: Hi Good Afternoon. I’m Florina M. Cabrera and you can call me “Rina” for short. I’m a Born-Again Christian; born and raised in a Christian Family. I can say honestly that I am a God-Fearing person; meaning, you can tell to me all your problems, whether it is possible to be solve or impossible it may seem and together we can pray to God and wait for His answer. I could say honestly too, that I love to help people; meaning, if I have something to share that could fit their needs, why not I lend my hand? One of my favorite quotation in life is this, “It is better to give than to receive” because based on my experience, every time I give for the Church financially or give something to people like food, water, clothing or a gift, what I felt is not the regret of losing but what I felt is an inner satisfaction and I didn’t felt that inner satisfaction if I only receive and receive and receive. I decided to choose to work in a call center for I knew that there are a lot of chances of giving a solution to clients or customer’s questions and needs.
2.Why Did You Leave Your Last Job: I leave my last job not because I encounter and face a variety of negative situations or experience bad relationships to my co-workers. Working there is one of the best working experiences I ever had. I leave that place because a certain time came to me that I felt I wanted to try something new, I wanted to meet new people and discover new ideas and new hopes. And I am here as an applicant because I would want to be a part of the best in a call centre industry.
3.Why Call Centre: I love to help people. I want to be a part of the best in the call centre industry. And my most honest answer is this – it is practical to work in a call centre. We get benefits which some company can’t give like HMO, night differential and allowances.
4.What Are Your Weaknesses: Sometimes, not always, I’m very slow in finishing the task not because I’m slow in understanding and picking up instructions, but because I wanted to make sure that the task I will deliver will meet my boss expectation, so it takes an overtime.
5.How Do You Provide Excellent Customer Service: We all know that when we say customer service is when we address to the client’s concern. When we say excellent customer service, we provide additional service aside from the inquiry of the client and at the end of the day; the client was pleased about the service provided. Exerting every effort we can give and empathizing to the client as if we are the one in need of help.
6.How Do You See Yourself 5 Years From Now: I see myself 5 years from now as one of the big bosses to the company, regardless if it’s manager or supervisor or on a different department.
7.How Would You Describe The Color “Red” To A Blind Person: We all know we have five different senses and that is sight, hearing, feeling, smell and taste. A blind person is missing one and that is sight. So what we need to do in order to describe the color “red” is try to use other senses in describing the color. For example; the color “red” is like a loud noise, it is a very loud color.”

8.Do You Have Any Questions For Me: What is the next process of this application?
