Ensure that you surround yourself with others who are positive also, be inspiring, affirm to yourself happiness, health, powerful positive mantras that motivate and let you reach , believe in yourself, embrace potential, promise and opportunity. That is the nature and scope of a positive attitude! Dare to speak into reality what you wish for to be, master your thinking and way ward mind, concentrate, focus and reflect on things more often, at every opportunity and you might surprised how different things might be in the morning!

The benefits of a positive attitude abound, stretching deep, reaching high far and wide, for a variety of things in life. There are many faces, guises and ways that it will manifest itself in both your personal and professional life. If you have positive attitude, you and others will recognize:

POSITIVE SELF-TALK TO ACCOMPLISH GOAL

“I will remember to carry out everyday tasks that might sometimes slip my notice. I will make room for balance in my life, for time with my friends and family as well as time to myself.”

“I will not undertake any task that I know is beyond my ability to handle successfully.”

“When I choose to undertake a task I will make steady progress on it.”

“I will become more dedicated to the process of a complete and balanced life. I will become excited about improving my life.”

“Every time I practice my relaxation exercises I will do my best to make positive progress.”

“I am willing, eager and ready to make whatever alterations to my daily schedule and lifestyle that may be required to change my life for the better.”

“Each day I will devote some time and effort to improving my self confidence. I will work hard to become surer of myself and more self-possessed.”

“I want to gain an objective view of my life n order for me to see what aspects of it should be improved on for me to achieve better happiness and improved success.”

“I will take time to make note of all my successes, and I will be sure to take pleasure in the results. I will also make every effort to learn from whatever failures or setbacks I may encounter, and be sure to view these as learning opportunities.”

“I will make every effort to change that which is in my power to change, but will also be careful to accept the things that are not within my power to change and instead work to changing my attitude toward and outlook on those things that displease me that I cannot change. Instead of becoming annoyed, I will try to become more philosophical about them.”

“My level of patience can be improved on. I will work to become less irritated by the pettier things in life.”

“I will avoid disturbing topics that upset me and those around me. I will not dwell on morbid or upsetting topics.”

“I will make every effort to focus on the pleasant things in life. I will focus on the sort of person I want to be.”

“I will make every effort to guard against my known weaknesses.”

“I will make note of my past mistakes. While I will be careful not to dwell on them so much that they overshadow future successes, it is important to recognize them so I can learn from them in the future.”

“I will make every effort to make careful note of the obstacles that stand between me and my future happiness, health and general security and peace of mind. I will also strive to see how they can be surmounted.”

“If I encountered disappointment, this will not shake my faith in my abilities.”

“I will be able to better concentrate and focus.”

“I will be able to remember things with greater ease. My memory will improve.”

“My self-control will increase.”

“I will develop a peace of mind and sense of tranquility.”

Of course, these are only suggestions. For maximum results, it is best to make a personal list of what you want to achieve, and work from there.

POSITIVE ATTITUDE: DECODING THE POWER OF POSITIVE ATTITUDE

We can develop a positive attitude if we are willing to have positive thoughts instead of negative thoughts.

Oh, how we love to critique, it is easy to be negative, judgmental and finding fault with everything, whining, expressing our opinion, even when not asked for it. It is so easy and we all do it. This habitual pattern is so ingrained in us as a learned behavior that it will take serious, active, deliberate effort to deal and cope with it in a planned, successful manner. Blame and finger-pointing are next, that is how we opt not to really deal with the real issues of our negative thinking, the high road and actually living up to our expectations is too much hard work, so we continue in mediocrity and negativity. Excuses and whining are other defense mechanisms that we put up to undermine our own efforts and trip up our progress on the positive attitude forming and lifestyle fronts. Self-defeating behaviors and setting ourselves up for failure without even trying (very hard at that) all follow. We indulge and feast on our own negativity and then wonder why things go so horribly wrong.

If we do not control and focus our minds, thoughts, energies and mental patterns in a more positive way, towards optimistic processes and outcomes, we will continue to reap spoilt, rotten fruits. A genius’ solution short and sweet, best word of advice; STOP!

POSITIVE ATTITUDE: JUST ANOTHER WAY OF THINKING?

Practical ways and suggestions to make things better, faster, more positive, by being optimistic, changing your outlook on life and motivate self and others to make the most of life, opportunity, embrace chance, change, process and outcome. Pro-actively, hands-on and first-hands opt to do something, everything a little differently from now on.

Imagine and think the impossible, what you really want, claim it into reality, believe that it will be so and it will most likely be and happen that way. That is the so-called law of attraction. It very much reminds us of a biblical quote and reference, ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and ye shall find… sound familiar, knock and the door shall be opened unto you.

Then ask and answer this question and musing for yourself. How do you see and think about yourself, a success, a failure, disappointment, achiever? How do others see you? Is there a discrepancy between these two perspectives and why? How can you change matters, starting now? Change your thought, patterns, habits and self-talk that is mainly negative, into more positive thoughts, no matter how hard that might be for your inner skeptic and critic to do! See yourself as succeeding and having anything and everything you hope and dream of and then will it into being.

HOW TO GAIN WHAT YOU WANT THROUGH CONCENTRATION

The ignorant person may say, “How can you get anything by merely wanting it?” I say that through concentration you can get anything you want. Every desire can be gratified. But whether it is, will depend upon you concentrating to have that desire fulfilled.

Merely wishing for something will not bring it. Wishing you had something shows weakness and not a belief that you will really get it. So never merely wish, as we are not living in a “fairy age.” You use up just as much brain force in “vain imaginings” as you do when you think of something worth while.

Be careful of your desires, make a mental picture of what you want and set your will to this until it materializes. Never allow yourself to drift without helm or rudder. Know what you want to do, and strive with all your might to do it, and you will succeed.

Feel that you can accomplish anything you undertake. Many undertake to do things, but feel when they start they are going to fail and usually they do. I will give an illustration:

A man goes to a store for an article. The clerk says, “I am sorry, we have not it.” But the man that is determined to get the thing inquires if he doesn’t know where he can get it. Again receiving an unsatisfactory answer, the determined buyer consults the manager and finally he finds where the article can be brought.

That is the whole secret of concentrating on getting what you want. And remember, your soul is a centre of all-power, and you can accomplish what you will to. “I’ll find a way or make one!” is the spirit that wins.

I know a man that is now head of a large bank. He started there as a messenger boy. His father had a button made for him with a “P” on it and put it on his coat. He said, “Son, that ‘P’ is a reminder that some day you are to be the president of your bank. I want you to keep this thought in your mind. Every day do something that will put you nearer to your goal.

Each night after supper he would say, “Son, what did you do today?” In this way the thought was always kept in mind. He concentrated on becoming president of that bank, and he did. His father told him never tell anyone what the “P” stand for.

A good deal of fun was made of it by his associates. And they tried to find out what it stood for, but they never did until he was made president and then he told the secret.

Don’t waste your mental powers in wishes. Don’t dissipate your energies by trying to satisfy every whim. Concentrate on doing something really worth while. The man that sticks to something is not the man that fails. “Power to him who power exerts.”

Success today depends largely on concentrating on the Interior law force, for when you do this you awaken those thought powers of forces, which used in business, insures permanent results.

Until you are able to do this you have not reached your limit in the use of your forces. This great universe is interwoven with myriads of forces. You make your own place, and whether it is important depends on you.

Through the Indestructible and Unconquerable Law you can in time accomplish all right things and therefore do not be afraid to undertake whatever you really desire to accomplish and are willing to pay for in effort.

Anything that is right is possible. That which is necessary will inevitably take place. If something is right, it is your duty to do it, though the whole world thinks it to be wrong. “God and one are always a majority,” or in plain words, that omnipotent interior law which is God, and the organism that represents you is able to conquer the whole world if your cause is absolutely just.

Don’t say, “I wish I was a great man.” You can do anything that is proper and you want to do. Just say: You can. You will. You must. Just realize this and the rest is easy. You have the latent faculties and forces to subdue anything that tries to interfere with your plans.

Say this prayer:
“Let the troubles and responsibilities of life come thick and fast. I am ready for them. My soul is unconquerable. I represent the infinite law of force, or of all power. This is God within is my all sufficient strength and ever present help in time of trouble. The more difficulties the greater its triumphs through me. The harder my trials, the faster I go in the development of interior reliance is all sufficient. The right must prevail. I demand wisdom and power to know and follow the right. My higher self is all wise. I now draw nearer to it.  AMEN.”

7 EASY WAYS TO DEVELOP SELF-ESTEEM

Now, this is due to the fact that you lack sufficient guts to interact with other people. In such, case, it is very important that you improve your interpersonal skills. But, how is this achieved? Begin by becoming a member of a group and start to be more friendly and approachable and believe in the people you meet. You can begin with a dear friend, whom you can rely on and act on your social scene from this point. Alternatively, you can attend programs, workshops, and seminars, which would enable you to develop your self-confidence as well as boost your self-esteem. Diffidence and apprehension are your most awful adversaries if you wish to be amicable with other persons; hence you must fight them tooth and nail.
2.     HONE YOUR COMMUNICATION ABILITIES. Dearth of self-confidence as well as little self-esteem may be due to lack of or extremely poor communication abilities. Now, what is required of you is that to understand how to carry on a conversation. You need to meet and associate with a number of people. However, opt for people you can count on. If you feel that nobody can be relied upon, begin with members of your family or expert therapist.

5.     DUMP SELF-CONSCIOUSNESS. Self-consciousness is the very reverse of self-confidence. Therefore, if you wish to develop self-confidence, you need to dump off self-consciousness. In order to achieve this, you should not think about the fear of embarrassment and censure. Rather, distract yourself by thinking of the wonderful things that life brings. Speak to yourself and learn to be poise and assured in whatever you do.
6.     NEVER FOCUS ON YOUR SETBACKS. This means that you require to be upbeat and hopeful. Do not worsen things by brooding over all the depressing things that you have gone through. Concentrate on your accomplishment instead.
7.     LOOK AFTER YOURSELF. Eat healthy, obtain adequate sleep, and work out. Adhering to these three things would ensure you feel good, both within and without. This is a sure-fire way to develop your self-confidence as also enhance your self-esteem.

Once you have followed these steps, you will certainly notice the change in yourself. Before long, you can pronounce that, “Developing self-esteem and self-confidence is the secret to success!”

SELF-ESTEEM

I wrote her off for the tenth time today
And practice all the things I would say
But she came over I lost my nerve
I took her back and made her dessert

Now I know I’m being used
That’s okay man
Cause I like the abuse
I know she’s playing with me
That’s okay cause
I got no self-esteem

We make plans to go out a night
I wait till 2 then I turn out the light
All the rejections got me so slow
If she keeps it up
I just might tell her no

Chorus:
When she’s saying that she wants only me
Then I wonder why she sleeps with my friends
When she’s saying that I’m like a disease
Then I wonder how much more I can spend
Well I guess I should speak up for myself

But I really think it’s better this way
The more you suffer
The more it shows you really care
Right? Yeah, yeah, yeah

Now I’ll relate this little bit
That happens more than I’d like to admit
Late at night she knocks on my door
Drunk again and looking to score

Now I know I should say no
But that’s kind of hard when she’s ready to go
I may be dumb but I’m not a dweeb
I’m just a sucker with no self-esteem
(Repeat Chorus)

Any fan of rock music would be familiar with the band Offspring. The band’s album titled SMASH was what gave them the 1st taste of true success, and it sold over 8 million copies around the world. Self-esteem was one of the tracks on this album, and as the name suggests, it speaks of the importance of self-esteem. To be precise, it speaks of the destruction that low self-esteem can cause in your life. Here is a little more about the song:

This song speaks about a man who is trapped in a relationship that is destructive to his own self. The relationship is with a woman he loves. It speaks of a woman that the man has written off and wants to leave, but being an emotionally weaker person, he just cannot do it when he is face to face with this woman. Rather, he spoils her when he sees her, thinking that he may have been wrong about her all along. The man then goes on to say that later he is confident that she is using him and he still doesn’t do a thing about it. He has begun to enjoy the feeling of low self-esteem. Although this man knows that the woman is just playing around with his emotions he does not do a thing about it, because he himself has written himself off as a person with low self-esteem.

The singer then speaks of the man making plans to take his lady friend out in the evening. She totally disregards his plans and does not care to even tell him that she doesn’t want to go out. After waiting till the middle of the night, the man feels rejected and abused once again, and feels that he may yet leave her if she keeps treating him this way. So we see a repetition of feelings of rejection and abuse, and still no effort on the man’s part to help himself get out of this destructive relationship.

We then are told that the woman lies to this man that she loves him, while she sleeps with his friends now and then. One can only imagine the destruction this piece of information can cause to the poor man’s psyche. The man fools himself into believing that the more he suffers the more his love for the woman is proved, and so he remains stuck in this vicious cycle of abuse and forgiveness.

Yet this is only a song, but you would be surprised to see the number of people who are stuck in such cycle of events, and the popularity of the song is proof of the existence of this large number of people. This song well explains the state of mind of a weak person who is in an abusive relationship with an emotionally stronger person. The truth is that no one can hurt you unless you let them. Forgiveness is not wrong. But forgive for the right reason, not because you are too weak to the other person – that is just insecurity and not the right motive for forgiveness. Make sure your self-esteem remains in tack, and you will never see such a situation in your life.
