INILIGTAS

By: M. Williams

“Napakadakila Panginoon ng Inyong patakaran;
Napakalawak naman ng Inyong kaalaman;

HINDI NATIN LUBUSANG NAIINTINDIHAN ANG DIOS, PERO DAPAT PA RIN NATIN SIYANG SAMBAHIN.

FROM ADING JUNICO

Ika’y pinili at hinirang
Nang Dios na lumalang
At pumili sa iyong mga magulang
Upang ika’y maisilang

FROM ATE MINS

Ate Yhang, aking kaibigan
Kailanma’y hindi kakalimutan
Nang pusong matagal ng naghahanap
Nang kaibigang tunay.

Ikaw ay espesyal
Tahimik at simple
Subalit naparamdam mo sa akin
Ang pagmamahal ng isang tunay na kaibigan.

Salamat sa iyong buhay
Sapagkat sa’yo ko natagpuan
Kung paano maglingkod sa Dios
Nang walang pag-aalinlangan.

Laging pakakatandaan
Narito lamang kaming mga kaibigan
Upang dumamay at umunawa

Sa lahat ng iyong nais sa buhay.

TAYO’Y KANYANG LILINGAPIN

Kundi tayo’y kanyang lilingapin.

Bagkus ipagdasal nalang at nawa’y matutunan nilang magpahalaga

Tayo’y nasa dilim maghapon

Kulang gamitin upang Ika’y pasalamatan;
Kulang gamitin upang Ika’y purihin;

At sa tuwing paglubog nito, pasasalamat ang aking tugon;

Hindi man sapat sambiting, “Iniibig Kita,”
Dahil ang Iyong habag at awa sa akin ay sapat na;
Mula sa aking pagkalugmok, ang Iyong kalakasan ay sagana;
Sa aking pag-ngiti Ikaw ang kanilang nakikita;
Upang patunayan, ipagmalaki, ipagsigawan…
“ANG PAG-IBIG KO SA IYO AY TOTOO.”

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler
Long I stood and looked down one
As far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanter wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay in leaves
No step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how many leads onto way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and agences hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood,
And I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

THE STRANGEST SECRET

30 – Day Action Ideas For Putting The Strangest Secret To Work For You:

For the next 30 – days follow each of these steps every day until you have achieved your goal.
1.      WRITE ON A CARD WHAT IT IS YOU WANT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE. It may be more money. Perhaps you’d like to double your income or make a specific amount of money. It may be a beautiful home. It may be a success at your job. It may be a particular position in life. It could be a more harmonious family.

Write down on your card specifically what it is you want. Make sure it’s a single goal and clearly defined. You needn’t show it to anyone, but carry it with you so that you can look at it several times a day. Think about it in a cheerful, relaxed, positive way each morning when you get up, and immediately you have something to work for – something to get out of bed for, something to live for.

Look at it every chance you get during the day and just before going to bed at night. As you look at it, remember that you must become what you think about, and since you’re thinking about your goal, you realize that soon it will be yours. In fact, it’s really yours the moment you write it down and begin to think about it.

2.      STOP THINKING ABOUT WHAT IT IS YOU FEAR. Each time a fearful or negative thought comes into your mind, replace it with a mental picture of your positive and worthwhile goal. And there will come a time when you’ll feel like giving up. It’s easier for a human being to think negatively than positively. That’s why only five percent are successful! You must begin now to place yourself in that group.

“Act as though it were impossible to fail,” as Dorother Brande said. No matter what your goal – if you’ve kept your goal before you every day – you’ll wonder and marvel at this new life you’ve found.

3.      YOUR SUCCESS WILL ALWAYS BE MEASURED BY THE QUALITY AND QUANTITY OF SERVICE YOU RENDER. Most people will tell you that they want to make money, without understanding this law. The only people who make money work in a mint. The rest of us must earn money. This is what causes those who keep looking for something for nothing, or a free ride, to fail in life! Success is not the result of making money; earning money is the result of success – and success is in direct proportion to our service.

Most people have this law backwards. It’s like the man who stands in front of the stove and says to it: Give me heat and then I’ll add the wood.” How many men and women do you know, or do you suppose there are today, who take the same attitude toward life? There are millions.

We’ve got to put the fuel in before we can expect heat. Likewise, we’ve got to be of service first before we can expect money. Don’t concern yourself with the money. Be of service… build… work… dream… create! Do this and you’ll find there is no limit to the prosperity and abundance that will come to you.

Don’t start your test until you’ve made up your mind to stick with it. If you should fail during your first 30 days – by that I mean suddenly find yourself overwhelmed by negative thoughts – simply start over again from that point and go 30 more days. Gradually, your new habit will form, until you find yourself one of that wonderful minority to whom virtually nothing is impossible.

Above all… don’t worry. Worry brings fear, and fear is crippling – The only thing that can cause you to worry during your test is trying to do it all yourself. Know that all you have to do is hold your goal before you; everything else will take care of itself.

Take this 30 – day test, then repeat it… then repeat it again. Each time it will become more a part of you until you’ll wonder how you could have ever lived any other way. Live this new way and the floodgates of abundance will open and pour over you more riches than you may dreamed existed. Money? Yes, lots of it. But what’s more important, you’ll have peace… you’ll be in that wonderful minority who lead calm, cheerful, successful lives.

Start today. You have nothing to lose. But you have a life to win.

BREAK AWAY FROM DEBT, BREAKTHROUGH FOR WEALTH

TEN PRINCIPLES FOR THE DEBT-FREE LIFESTYLE

The author advances these principles: (1) Your Calling in God’s Economy, (2) The One Thing You Must Do, (3) End a Deadly Practice, (4) What To Do with Debt, (5) A Proven Way out of Poverty, (6) Plan your Children’s Future, (7) Cultivating the Winning Attitude, (8) Make your Money Make more Money, (9) Learn the Secret Formula, and (10) How be Debt-Free Forever.

“God’s Economy,” according to Liuson, recognizes God as Owner of all, “and He has appointed us to take care of His creation… to administer every resource and every blessing.” The advantage of being an administrator is, when a really big problem comes, the owner comes to the rescue.

The “One-Thing-You-Must-Do” Principle gives the wisest but rarely practiced advice: Have a budget, instead of yielding to impulse spending. “Easy?” Use an envelope for every essential or non-essential expense.

He has this witty advice with a warning: “When you shop for food, you’ll spend only the money found in that envelope. When it runs out, that means you should stop buying food.” It’s like saying, stop breathing!

One or no credit card at all. What’s the “deadly practice” mentioned in Principle 3? It’s the ubiquitous, powerful, addictive credit card! What’s Liuson’s advice: “Cut your credit card into pieces, “if necessary,” he quickly adds. Then he tells a heartbreaking story of a Nestor, who has eight credit cards, and piled up half a million of debt in the principal alone!

He relents about credit cards, and dishes out four tips in using these cards: (1) Get one credit card only, (2) Never recklessly charge to your credit card all purchases that you can pay with cash, (3) Pay the total bill on time, and (4) Don’t be greedy for points (or be seduced by points).

And what’s the secret formula in Principle 10? Liuson volunteers the “10:20:70 Formula.” It is a shorthand to “Tithe” 10 percent, save 20 percent, spend 70 percent. He advances the concept of tithing (10 percent of income) as mentioned in Genesis 14:18 of the Scriptures – believed by Christian faiths.

Debt-Free Forever?
And he cities a policy among Cityland founders that every stockholders should be a “tither.” He attributes the continuing growth and expansion of this condominium builder, to giving the tenth to God’s work – meaning, in a Church, a chapel, or any of God’s “storehouses.”

So becoming “debt-free” is an attainable goal after all. Even the poorest of the poor can achieve such a feat. And then move on realizing wealth, creating wealth – and “honoring God with our wealth.”

As I said earlier, this is a different guide to getting out of the present – day bondage – financial debt. And evangelical leader as he is, Liuson advises readers to be debt – free forever. He just leaves these thoughts to ponder: “What good would it do to live free from financial debt in this life only to find out that we have an unsettled debt to pay in the afterlife?”

After reading this book, living up to the 10 principles of a debt-free lifestyle, one realizes that the issue of debt has material and spiritual dimensions. And it is necessary to settle both dimensions soonest. As one author puts it, not Liuson, “Nothing is settled until it is settled right.”

LIFE, FAITH AND FINANCES

By: Rica Paralejo – Bonifacio

Dear everyone,

I got my first paycheck at the age of 12, and I remember my mom already planting seeds of financial wisdom when she bought me a gold ring with a portion of it. She got the ring for P300, which is now worth around P7000, if not more. If there is any money-related habit that has remained with me through the years, it is to seek financial advice from those who are wise when it comes to managing their money. The peak of my working days came around in my 20s, and it was mom who taught me not to keep everything as cash, but invest in real state and properties as well as authentic jewelry like gold and diamond. As did my P300 ring, these have already increased in value; if I had kept them liquid, I probably would have lost much to inflation.

While it is great to have parents whose strength lie in economics, seeking advice outside the family proves to be refreshing, too. We all have different beliefs and attitudes when it comes to handling money and it sometimes takes talking to other people to realize what works for you. Nevertheless, time and tested tenets of “invest and diversify” are always on the lips of wealth giants. Now that my husband and I are seriously considering to buy a house, we are grateful to have stored away our money in different forms, so now we can readily dispose of the ones that will sell best in today’s economy.

Something I realized later in life is to practice godly tithing and generosity. Tithe, which was an Old English term for the word tenth, is really just 10% of my earnings, which I regularly give to my church. Generosity on the other hand is a mix of things – helping someone in need, treating a bunch of people to yummy lunch of supporting a missionary. These two practices are great in curbing human tendency to turn money into a god and to always bring us back to the Real Source of all blessings.

I made it a point to share about investment, tithing, and generosity before budgeting, for a purpose. When I was younger, I would first set aside money for electricity, water, food, phone bills, and all other monthly expenses, and always ended up with nothing to spare for tithing, investing, and giving. Yet when I turned things around, meaning I would budget only after what’s left of those three, my life seemed to work better! Not only did I experience financial breakthroughs, but there was also an improvement in my money habits and character. I learned to spend only on what is truly of great worth – which included meal budgets for fostering healthy relationships, education and self-improvement, and excluded excessive shopping and expensive coffee. When we deal with money in this order, we begin to see that there many things we can actually do without, and focus on what is truly important.

The best part about this structure is that it saves you the best value for times when you truly need them. I am now 34 years old and realized I can enjoy being a stay-at-home mom largely because I work hard in my 20s and was able to save up for it. Whether you marry early or late, purchase a house now or later, putting your hard-earned money away in the right places for your rainy days will never fail to bless your life. Saving really saves you from worries and replaces it with security.

You are intelligent and godly and I am so excited for you! The opportunities for making and growing wealth are aplenty, and I hope you go about it wisely and faithfully. Prosperity may only be experienced with a good amount of discipline and faith in the Ultimate Provider. So go and make the most out of your season of productivity together with the unparalleled wisdom and grace of God!

Love,
Rica.

MARKET RISKS

Published on Jul 21, 2014
Philam Life CEO and President, Rex Mendoza talks about market risks during the IMG Convention of Champions 2014.

Staying on the market is a safest thing to do. When you think out that the best days on the market will be on the last 5 years, the best days is already been a lost if you’re not marketed. So the risk is not where you’re in the market and in goes stop, the risk is when it goes up and you’re not part of it. I will repeat that. The biggest risk is when it goes up and you’re not part of it. When people think the biggest risk is when I’ve been there and it drops, that’s not the risk, for as long as I keep my commitment, the market will be recovering, so the thing is to participate in the market.

IT'S NOT HOW MUCH MONEY YOU MAKE, IT'S HOW MUCH MONEY YOU KEEP

Most people fail to realize that in life, it’s not how much money you make, it’s how much money you keep. We have all heard stories of lottery winners who are poor, then suddenly rich, then poor again. They win millions and are soon back to where they started. Or stories of professional athletes, who, at the age of 24 are earning millions of dollars a year, and are sleeping under a bridge by age 34. In the paper this morning, as I write this, there is a story of young basketball player who a year ago had millions. Today, he claims his friends, attorneys and accountant took his money, and now he works at a car wash for a minimum wage.

He is only 29. He was fired from the car wash because he refused to take off his championship ring as he was wiping off the cars, so his story made the newspaper. He is appealing his termination, claiming hardship and discrimination and that the ring is all he has left. He claims that if you take that away, he’ll crumble.

In 1997, I know so many people who are becoming instant millionaires. It’s the roaring 20’s one more time. And while I am glad people have been getting richer and richer, I only caution that in the long run, it’s not how much money you make, it’s how much you keep, and how many generations you keep it.

SEVEN (7) STEPS TO FINDING YOUR FINANCIAL FAST TRACK

1.      MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. This means fill out your own financial statement, set financial plan, and 5-year plan.
2.      TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR CASH FLOW. Determine which quadrant (E-mployed, B-usiness Owner, S-elf Employed, I-nvestor) you receive your income from today. Then determine which quadrant you want to receive the bulk of your income from in five years.

Pay yourself first. Put aside a percentage from each paycheck or payment. Deposit that money into an investment savings account. Do not take it out until you are ready to invest it.

Reduce your personal debt by cutting up credit cards, coming up with an extra hundred dollars a month, and putting that to your monthly payment of one of your credit cards. When you are completely debt-free, take the hundred dollars and put it in your investment savings account.

3.      KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RISK AND RISKY. Define risk in your own words. Ask yourself is relying a paycheck risky to you? Is having debt every month risky to you? Is owning an asset that generates cash flow into your pocket each month risky to you? Is spending time learning about financial education risky to you? Is spending time learning about different types of investments risky to you?

Commit 5 hours each week to do one or more of the following:
. Read the business page of your newspaper and the Wall Street Journal.
. Listen to the financial news on TV or radio.
. Listen to educational cassettes on investing and financial education.
. Read financial magazines and newsletters.
. Play the board game CASHFLOW.

4.      DECIDE WHAT KIND OF INVESTOR YOU WANT TO BE.
Type C Investors – Do not know very much about investing. They can only get rich if they marry a rich person or win the lottery.
Type B Investors – Ask “What do you recommend I invest in? Do you think I should buy real state? What mutual funds are good for me?
Type A Investors – Look for problems and solve them expecting to make returns of 25% to infinity.

5.      SEEK MENTORS AND ROLE MODELS. Who you spend your time with determines your future.
6.      MAKE DISSAPOINTMENT YOUR STRENGHT. In other words, in business you must expect to be disappointed. Be kind to yourself. Make mistakes so you will learn from them.
7.        BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND START TODAY!

THE SEVEN (7) LEVELS OF INVESTORS

Level 0: Those with nothing to invest. They spend more than they earn.
Level 1: Those who borrow and consume, shop, and go into deep debt.
Level 2: Savers put away a small amount in low-risk, low-return vehicles. They waste time waiting for their savings to grow.
Level 3:
3-A’s – Smart investors invest in retirement plans, and hand over their money to a financial planner.
3-B’s – The cynics who are often late in the game and think they know about the stock market when in reality they know very little.
3-C’s – Are gamblers. They do not study investments, and are lazy to really know their trading rules.
Level 4: Long-term investors have clearly laid-out long-term plans. Simply reducing your consumer debt and putting a little away in a mutual fund can give you a financial head start.
Level 5: Sophisticated investors seek aggressive strategies and know how to play the game of investing. They have sound financial base, good money habits, and investment savvy. Nothing is in their names for tax purposes, and they control corporations. They control the legal entities that own their assets. They are what we term “stewards of money.”
Level 6: Capitalists category is where we find the Kennedys Rockefellers, Fords, J.Paul Gettys and Ross Perots. They create investments, jobs, businesses, and goods that make a country prosper. Level 6 investors create investments other people buy.

THE THREE (3) KINDS OF BUSINESS SYSTEMS

These are 3 main types of business systems commonly in use today:
1.      Traditional C – type of corporations where you develop your own system.
2.      Franchise – where you buy an existing system.
3.      Network Marketing – where you buy into and become part of an existing system.

Remember, you may lose 2 or 3 companies before you build a successful business.

How to become a Business Owner:
1.      Find a mentor, someone who is already at the peak of you want to achieve.
2.      Buy a franchise.
3.      Join a network marketing company.

To be a successful Business Owner, you need to overcome your fear of rejection when trying to makes a sales pitch. You need to lead different types of people.

Join organizations with proven track records and distribution systems. Have a business opportunity you can share confidently with others. Have ongoing long-term educational programs to develop you as human being.

Have a strong mentor program. Learn from leaders, not advisers.

Have people you respect and enjoy being with.

A system is your bridge to financial freedom. If you are able to run a successful business system, you are on your way to the big Investor quadrant.
