There are
few things worth dying for. There are even fewer worth living for. The question
is not so much, “Are you willing to die for Jesus?” but, “Are you willing to
live for him?”
Serving
Jesus is all about making choices every day. Every moment. Every hour. Both
when no one is looking, and when everyone is staring your way. In front of your
friends. Your family.
When people
are using Jesus’ name as a cuss word, say something. When your friends are
mocking Christ, stand up for your Savior. When someone asks you why you go to
Church, tell him. When people sneer at you, don’t back down. It’s not easy.
But it’s
always worth it.
Take a bold
stand for Jesus. Nothing that’s lukewarm ever smells like God.
“Jesus,
this life of following you isn’t gonna be easy, but I want to walk with you all
the way. Even when i’m tempted to back down or turn around, give me courage.
Let me be bold and compassionate. Invade me. Change me from the inside, out.
Make me your own, Lord. Fill me with your unpredictable, unstoppable,
unquenchable Spirit. Blow through my life and fill me with your power and love.
I want to live for you and follow you. Forever. Amen.”
