I Started writing in my journal last
night and paused after the first
sentence. Man, it’s been a tough few months. Anyone else? I continue to bump
into people who answer “How are you?” With a simple “Could be better.” My heart
is exhausted. Emotionally. Physically. Spiritually. I’m weary. I’m discouraged.
If you can say, “Me too” to the
above, I found some encouraging passages for us. Speaking these nuggets of
truth over myself today and hope you can be encouraged also.
“He gives strength to the weary and
increased the power of the weak.” –Isaiah 40:29
“I have said these things to you,
that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take
heart; I have overcome the world.” –John 16:33
“For I know the plans I have for you,
declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a hope and a
future.” –Jeremiah 29:11
“Come to Me, all who are weary and
heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.” –Matthew 11:28
“I will refresh the weary and satisfy
the faint.” –Jeremiah 31:25
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when
you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith
produces steadfastness and endurance.” –James 1:23
“The Lord is near to the
brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit.” –Psalm 34:18
“I sought the Lord, and He answered
me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant with joy;
their faces will never be ashamed.” –Psalm 34:4-5
“For we do not have a high priest who
is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but the one who in every respect
has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” –Hebrews 4:15
“When I am filled with cares, Your
comfort brings me joy.” –Psalm 94:19
“I can do all things through Christ
Jesus who strengthens me.” –Philippians 4:13
“Praise the Lord, who has given rest
to His people Israel just as He promised. Not one Word has failed of all of the
good promises He gave through His servant Moses.” -1 Kings 8:56
