RODEL AHAN

May mga araw na nag-iisa akong humaharap sa mga bagyo,

Walang taong malalapitan.

Tila ba sinusubukan ako ng Diyos kung kaya kong mabuhay na Siya lang ang kasama.

Minsan mayroong oras na gusto ko ng sabihin sa sarili kong “hindi mo deserve mabuhay ng masaya” pero hindi ko sinasabi dahil pagagalitan ako ni Lord.

Dahil diyan humiling ako sa Kanya na alagaan ako at buksan ang aking isipan, ilawan ako sa tamang daan, laging patnubayan at bigyan ng lakas para magampanan ang bawat araw na dumarating na puno ng kagalakan ang puso.

Dininig ng Diyos ang aking sitwasyon at binigyan Niya ako ng isang taong magdadagdag ng kagalakan sa puso ko araw-araw..

Mahal ko siya.

Pero sa palagay ko ay pinadali ng Diyos ang lahat para sa amin..

Sobrang init sa bansang kinalalagyan niya ngayon,

Pero kahit sobrang init ng paligid niya,

Natutuwa ako kasi nananatili siyang nagpapalamig sa presensiya ng Diyos..

Gusto kitang makita, yung tipong kaya kitang mahawakan sa kamay at mayakap, gusto kong gawin yun sayo lahat.

Gusto kitang patawaning gamit ang korni kong mga jokes, mapangiti sa simple kong banat, at makita kang pinagtatawanan ako sa tuwing magbibitiw ng sweet lines sayo.

Gusto kong maging reyalidad mo, na hindi lang nabubuhay ang ating relasyon sa basta lang chat o connection gamit ang cellphone, kundi koneksyon ng ikaw at ako sa totoong mundo.

At siyempre gusto kong makilala mo ang totoong ako. Gusto kong tanggapin natin ang imperfections ng isa’t isa.

Wala namang imposible sa mundo, kaya umaasa ako, at patuloy na aasa na balang araw magkikita rin tayo.

Gustung-gusto kong mangyari ang lahat ng iyan. Pinaghihiwalay man tayo ng distansya o ng lugar, pinagtagpo naman tayo para manirahan sa sarili nating mundo. Kaya wag kang mag-alala, darating din ang araw na makikita kita.

At ang lahat ng yan ay nangyari na. Nakita na rin kita sa wakas.

WHY AM I AFRAID TO TELL YOU WHO I AM

“Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10

“Why I am afraid to tell you, what I really think and feel? I’m afraid you will reject me. Because being accepted is very important to me so I put up a front to make you think I am something I’m not. And the hypocrisy makes it very difficult for us to relate to each other as people.”

Few men understand that what women most want out of marriage is intimacy. I’m talking about opening your heart and letting the person closest to you know what lies within – the dungeons of fear and feelings of incompetence that are there.

What are the keys to this kind of intimacy?

First: DEEP COMMUNICATION. This means that you men must go beyond the factual level of communication to what your wife describes as emotions and feelings.

Second: VULNERABILITY. You’ve got to overcome the risk attached to being yourself. God knows you and loves you as you are and when one person really loves another, that love extends to ideas and concepts which may be different.

Third: ACCEPTANCE WITHOUT CENSURE. Love is unconditional and is has no strings attached.

Fourth: ABSOLUTE HONESTY. I was asked why I said my wife was my best counselor. I replied, “Because she balances love with absolute honesty.”

Fifth: SENSITIVITY. Intimacy demands that you pick up the nonverbal signals and give the other person the freedom to elaborate on what he or she is suggesting.

Sixth: CONFIDENTIALITY. Nothing destroys trust more that betraying it. Some things should forever be kept in the drawer of your memory.

TRUSTING GOD MORE

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5

There’s a story about a mountain climber who fell off a cliff, but on the way down, he grabbed the roots of a tree and held on tight. Looking down, he saw a thousand foot drop. He yelled for help but none came. Finally, he cried, “God, help me! And a voice said, “Just turn loose; I’ll catch you!” But he couldn’t see anyone and not liking the alternatives called out again, “Anybody else up there?”

We smile at this, but a lot of us live that way. When we don’t like God’s direction we seek an alternative. The life of faith means unconditional obedience and commitment. Here are five guidelines that will help you.

1.LEARN ABOUT THE NATURE AND CHARACTER OF GOD. God is God, and though your earthly father may have disappointed you, you will never live long enough to meet a person who can honestly say, “God let me down; He disappointed me!”

2.BECOME A STUDENT OF THE BOOK. In the Bible, you will learn about the nature and character of God.

3.COMMIT YOURSELF TO GOD’S WILL FOR YOUR LIFE. Until you come to know that God is good, you won’t entrust your life and future to Him.

4.REALIZE THAT THE LIFE OF OBEDIENCE IS A ONE-STEP-AT-A-TIME WALK. When I was young, a friend gave me a good counsel when he said, “God’s will is like a flashlight in a dungeon; it doesn’t shine around corners or illuminate the next cave; it only gives you light for the next step.” A great truth!

5.REALIZE THAT WITH GOD’S DEMAND FOR OBEDIENCE COMES HIS COMMITMENT TO PROTECT AND PROVIDE FOR YOU. With such assurance, how dare we ask for more?

THE REAL YOU

For You created my inmost being.. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:13-14

It happened when you were conceived. Thirteen male and thirteen female chromosomes came together and made you the person that you are. A vast amount of heredity united two family trees in a unique combination which made you an original, without a duplicate! Later in life when you become successful, your parents sit back and say, “It’s heredity that came through – we’re the proud parents of a winner!” And when somebody fails, the same parents cry out, “He was influenced by his friends!” Is the success factor heredity or environment?

Psychiatrist Dwight Carlson says in When in Christians Shoot Their Wounded that there is another factor – your personal choice which isn’t determined by either heredity or environment.

If we could neatly divide life into compartments which are labeled heredity, environment, and personal choices, it might be easier for us to cope with the problems of life and living. But it can’t be done: You are a product of your heredity. You are a product of your environment, the person you became by virtue of the way you were raised and how you were treated, an individual who is influenced by the friends and company you keep, yet a person created in the image of God, you have a volition, a will of your own, and you have a part in determining what happens to you.

If this were not true, and if you were not capable of change with the help of God’s Holy Spirit, God would indeed be unjust in holding you accountable for your decisions and choices. To understand the options and the choices which are available including God’s help, makes the whole matter of personal choices and easier thing to deal with.

INTIMACY

“At midnight I rise to give thanks for your righteous laws.” Psalm 119:62

A young seminarian had just accepted his first pastorate. His wife was beautiful and he seemed so capable. But as we talked he explained that though he believed in prayer, he led his congregation in prayer and he preached about prayer, he and his wife had never prayed together.

“May if I ask why not?” He said, “I’ve been afraid that if we prayed together, she would know how weak I am and then she wouldn’t look up to me as a strong person.”

Men have trouble verbalizing vulnerable feelings thinking that rejection would result when actually women would love their men all the more knowing their weaknesses. Merle Shain in his book, Courage My Love, says, “Intimacy is a haven where your vulnerabilities don’t humiliate you, where sex is always warm and close, and where all your funny lines are understood.”

It is also necessary for you to go beyond a formal relationship with God. How do we enjoy this warmth?

First, deep communication which you can have by pouring out your heart in prayer.

Second, complete vulnerability. God already knows you better than you know yourself.

Third, acceptance without censure. “Like as a father pities her children, so the Lord pities those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:13). God forgives and reaches out with strength to steady you as you learn to walk without falling.

AM I REALLY RESPONSIBLE

“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth… Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.” Romans 12:1, 13

“I can’t help the way I am – I’m an alcoholic!” Those were the words I heard as I struggled to help a woman out of her automobile. I had just come upon the scene of an accident. Two young men were lying unconscious on the road, having been thrown out of their little truck by the impact of this woman’s car which had plowed into the back of their pickup at high speed.” Can anybody help the way he or she is?

A growing amount of scientific evidence traces a biological link between some of our emotional problems and our parents. What we are coming to understand is that all people are not born equal. Just as some inherit strong physical bodies, some inherit stronger wills and personalities. Some of us inherit a disposition from our parents which makes us more susceptible to some things than other people, but can we excuse the alcoholic from wreaking havoc on the highway, or excuse the murderer who says he is not responsible because he grew up in the slums of the inner-city and never knew the love of a caring parent?

God says that certain things are wrong so that we learn not only what makes for happiness and fulfillment in life, but that we also understand that there is forgiveness for our wrong choices, our willful acts of disobedience, our sins. With God’s help I can change.

We may require a lot of help and compassion from those who are close to us, but change is the door to hope and life. Don’t ever – even for a moment – let yourself think, “I can’t help the way I am” because you can, with God’s help and the help of those who surround you.

A CHALLENGE GREATER THAN YOU

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Psalm 111:10

We call them “baby boomers” – the generation of men and women who were born between the years 1946 and 1964. They are often pictured as selfish, highly motivated, pleasure seeking people who think only of themselves.

Don’t believe it for a minute! If however, some fall into that category, perhaps there is valid reason. Have we failed in confronting our generation with a cause that is greater than getting ahead of the guy in the car two lanes over from you?

“It was August 1989,” writes David Egner. “A young man was sharing a taxi in Bangkok, Thailand and he leaned forward to speak, “I’m going to India. I’ll be trying to convert the fishermen who live along the ocean. I’ll stay until the task is completed!’ Was he another young missionary who was intent of sharing his faith? No, he was a Soviet communist who had not learned that communism is a dead system.”

We have not sees more young men and women who are determined to convert fishermen who live along the ocean to Jesus Christ because we have never confronted our generation with His Cross. “Take your Cross and follow me” challenged Jesus, not “follow me and join the baby boomers who drive BMW’s and wear Rolex watches.”

I’m convinced that when our generation gets the challenges straight many will deny themselves and take up their Cross and follow those who are changing the world.

The fault is not that of a generation of men and women who focus on the comforts of life; it is the fault of a generation who have soft-pedaled the challenge, fearful of losing their own security. At least that’s one man’s opinion.

HONESTY WITH GOD

“For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.” Psalm 109:2

A mother had been told her boy, Peter, had a malignant and incurable disease. She said, “There was nothing left to live for. I went into the garden one morning and at the top of my voice I called God every bad word I knew. My poor husband, driven to distraction with worry, put his hand over my mouth and implored me to pull myself together. I shouted, ‘What does it matter? There isn’t even a God and so I can do no harm; if there is a God, I am already in hell. I cannot possibly suffer anymore.’

“Oh yes, you might well be shocked, but I feel certain that at this moment Jesus looked down on me with compassion. For the first time in my life I was being honest with God. I was telling Him what I really thought and I meant every word I said, I look upon this episode as a crisis in God’s pattern.”

This woman reached rock bottom in her life. She pressed her anger, and resentment against God as forcibly as she could. But underneath what she thought was rock bottom, she found the Rock of Ages who could help and give peace.

On the day of her son’s funeral, she said, “We did the only thing possible: we surrendered Peter to God. My doubts and prejudices have vanished, and in their place, a true knowledge of the love of God exists. I feel I have been born again into a new world where life is real.”

Honesty with oneself is not easy to come by. The very form of religion can become a barrier between ourselves and God and sometimes only a deep crisis in our personal lives reveals the sham. But honesty with God is the only way we can ever find peace with Him. The Bible says, “The Lord looks at the heart.” Be honest with Him; stop putting up a religious front.

MAN WAS MEANT FOR GOD

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles…” Isaiah 40:31a

James Aggrey tells the story of a man who found a young eagle while walking through the forest. He decided to take it home and put it in his barnyard. Within a few days the young eagle began to eat chicken feed and behaved like the other chickens.

One day, a naturalist saw the eagle in the midst of the chickens. He asked the owner why an eagle was living as a chicken. “I have given it chicken feed and trained it to be a chicken,” replied the farmer, “it has never learned to fly. It is no longer an eagle.” “Still,” insisted the naturalist, “it has the heart of an eagle and can surely be taught to fly.”

The naturalist took the eagle in his arms and said, “You belong to the sky and not to the earth. Stretch forth your wings and fly.” But the eagle was afraid of his unknown self and world, and jumped down for the chicken food.

Again the naturalist rose early and took the eagle to a high mountain. He held it high above him and encouraged him saying, “You are an eagle. Stretch forth your wings now and fly.” At last, within a triumphant cry, the eagle soared away into the heavens. Though he had been kept as a chicken, he is an eagle.

In a sense, the parable of the eagle is the story of man. We were made to have fellowship with God, to soar with the wings of an eagle but we became separated from God through sin that came into the human race.

If you are a believer but enjoy the chicken feed in the barnyard, remember you were made for higher things. As Isaiah wrote, you cannot mount up with wings as eagles, you can run and not be weary, you can walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:31).

WIN SOULS

In this end-time, salvation is the very needed to be preach to all nation.

And what we need to do? Win souls!

Winning souls is an urgent task. So we must obey and we must follow the Lord.

We use to praise and worship God. Playing instruments and singing a new song to Him.

We have talent, and talent is good, but God is not looking to our talent. We must obey.

Kapag aalis tayo sa natural at puro natural lang, na laging bukang-bibig natin, and we will meditate the Word of God? Magbabago ang lahat. Just obey the Word of God.

See Joshua, he has a simple obedience. Like Moises, he is faithful. We know that only him and Caleb who entered to the promise land. For Joshua know who is the prophet or the owner of Israel and it is God. And we also need to know and understand that the owner of the Church is God.

So be like Joshua. Ano mang pagsubok na dinanas niya sa buhay, he just simply obey.

Sa paglilingkod sa Diyos, hindi ito  paramihan ng attendee, hindi palakihan ng Church o patalinuhan ng alam sa Bible. Ang basis ng Diyos ay kung hanggang kailan mo gustong sumunod.

Nasubok man ang pananampalataya mo? May nakita at narinig ka man, ayaw mo man sa leader mo o gusto mo, still look to God.

Hindi tao ang nagtayo ng Church kundi ang Diyos. Undercovering lang ng Diyos ang mga leaders ng Church.

Kung hindi undercover ni Abraham si Lor, hindi siya mapapagpala.

Kaya iyong mga nananaginip na mayroon pa silang ibang reward maliban sa Diyos, bangungot pupuntahan niyan.

For our greatest reward that we could ever have in this world is God.

In our obedience, God is empowering us.

Ang kailangan lang para ma-stir up ang faith ng bawat isa ay sumunod.

Sapagkat kung hindi mo sinusunod ang Salita Niya ngayon, paano mo iho-honor ang gagawin Niya mamaya?

We know that hindi Niya puwede ihonor ang mali. Sinasadya man o hindi. Sapagkat ayaw ng Diyos ng ganyan.

Isa lang naman ang ibig ng Diyos, kapag nag-utos Siya – obedience.

Although in our generation, we need that para hindi tayo mabilad sa araw or mabasa ng ulan. Kaya marami ngayon ay nagkakaroon ng crab mentality na halos magpakamatay sa pagpapatayo ng Church. Sapagkat kapag walang Church ay hindi na siya makakapagturo. Na maliban magka-Church tsaka lang tatayo at magtuturo. Kita mo gaano ka-self conscious ang marami.

Si Hesus, sa mabilad sa araw o sa mabasa ng ulay, tuloy lang.

Sa pagdatin ni Hesus kahit gaano pa kalaki at kaganda ang Church natin, hindi iyan ang ira-rapture Niya kundi ikaw na totoong Church Niya na ira-rapture Niya.

Hindi ko sinasabi na huwag na magpatayo ng Church o itigil na ang pagpapatayo ng Church. Ang nais lang ng Diyos, kahit ano man ang ginagawa natin or ano man ang pinapagawa natin ay huwag tayo tumigil sa pagpapalaganap ng Salita Niya. In other words, huwag tayo tumigil sa pagliligtas ng kaluluwa. Sapagkat wala din namang silbi ang pinagawang Church kung wala din namang aattend. Maging God conscious tayo.

Hindi lang basta Salita na nakasulat at binabasa natin ang mamuhay kagaya ni Cristo. Ito ay kalooban ng Diyos na mamuhay tayo kagaya ni Cristo.

Hanggat hindi tayo nagiging kagaya ni Cristo, hindi titigil ang Diyos na gawin tayo.

Sa mga dinadanas natin sa mundong ito ay masasabi natin na mabigat ang mga persecutions.

Pero mas mabigat ang presence ng Diyos na magco-comfort satin. Just obey.

Simply obedience is to obey even though you don’t know everything about Him.

Sapagkat walang relasyong toto ang hindi sumusunod sa Diyos.

For when you obey God, it is simply reminding you of your commitment to God.

So ipagmalaki mo ang Diyos na mayroon ka sa buhay mo.

Hindi masama ang magyabang kung ang Diyos ang ipinagyayabang mo. Instead of anything that has nothing to do with you and your God.

Jesus is coming. Kaya ang Church ay hindi dapat natutulog. At sino ang Church na tinutukoy? Tayo na mga lingkod ng Diyos.

Kaya kung may dapat gawin ang Church ngayon ay ang gumising sa katotohanan na nililiglig na tayo ng Diyos. Kailan tayo kikilos? Magligtas na tayo ng kaluluwa araw-araw, share the Gospel.

Kung paanong laging humahayo si Hesus noon sa pamamahagi ng Salita ng Ama sa mga tao sapagkat ito ay urgent task natin sa Diyos.

Sapagkat ang kahihinatnan gn mundong ito ay destruction kaya nga papalitan ng bagong langit at bagong lupa.

The coming of Jesus is a well planned by God.

So obey God and obey and obey.

Mabuti pa ang hindi sumusunod kasi walang narinig kaysa sa madami ngang narinig pero hindi naman sumusunod.

Obedience is better than sacrifice.

WHEN DEPRESSION ATTACKS

“I feel I am worthless, failure, disappointment”

“I feel I am ineffective, I don’t see any progress”

“Pabigat ako, walang pakinabang”

“Pagod na ako masaktan ng paulit-ulit”

“Nauubusan na ako ng pag-asa, di na ako magbabago”

“Di ko na kilala sarili ko, di naman ako ganito dati”

“Mag-isa lang ako, no one cares, nobody loves me and no one will ever love someone like me”

“What if hindi ko matapos, natatakot ako!”

“What if mali ako, pagtatawanan lang ako!”

Living under the weight of the “What If’s” is a hard place to dwell.

Marami ang nati-trigger sa depression. Puwedeng because of social media, problema sa school at bahay, toxic relationships at pati kasalanan. And when people fail to come out from this attack, some chooses to end their life.

But how do we fight depression? Try R.I.P which stands for Rest In Peace

Matthew 11:28-30 “Lumapit kayo sa Akin, kayong lahat na napapagod at may mabibigat na pasanin, at bibigyan Ko kayo ng pahinga. Pasanin ninyo ang Aking pamatok at matuto kayo sa Akin dahil Ako ay maamo at may mababang loob. Makakakita kayo ng kapahingahan sa Akin, dahil madaling dalhin ang pamatok Ko at magaan ang pasaning ibibigay Ko sa inyo.

Truths about Resting In Peace:

Those who come to Christ, He will give Rest.

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Sabi ni Jesus, “COME TO ME!”

Kahit sino ka pa at anong status mo or background mo sa buhay, Jesus invites you to come to Him and find rest.

Ang ibang Kristiyano ay iba ang mindset. Kailangan malinis muna sila bago lumapit kay Jesus. But that is a wrong conception. He is the solution and He will straighten out what we can’t straighten on our own.

Just as said in Mark 2:17, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick, I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

When others hurt you, your spiritual maturity will be revealed. You will discover how real your relationship with Jesus Christ when your feelings get hurt. You can be the greatest speaker, the greatest worshipper, or the greatest evangelist, but when your feelings are hurt, what you do at that moment and afterward will reveal the reality of your relationship with Jesus.

People have one of two reactions when their feelings get hurt: They deal with it before the Lord, or they destroy others.
